A writer since she learned how to scratch out barely legible letters with a pencil, Jessica now has five years of professional writing experience and two years of social media experience. A free-spirited nature, passion and wanderust led her to leave the 9-5 lifestyle for the world of freelancing in 2009 with a focus on blogging, web copy and marketing copy. Since then, professional and personal interests have caused her to explore E-commerce writing, travel writing, fashion copy, social media marketing and SEO optimization.
Her favorite thing about her job, her passion, is helping people put their thoughts into words and find their brand's specific voice. She has experience working for larger companies and has returned to the 9-5 world periodically, but finds her heart lies in working with small business owners. As someone who can work better in a crowded coffee shop than a quiet office and would rather make her own schedule than be given paid vacation days, she finds the self-employed small business owners to be kindred spirits.
When she's not writing for money, she's writing for fun (a memoir of one amazing road trip) or spending time with her husband exploring their beloved city, Seattle. She also loves coffee, reading, wine, chocolate and working off the wine and chocolate with exercise. She is an unlikely but proud Days of our Lives fan. Her handwriting is still barely legible.
